Today, Tuesday 28th January, the International Promotion and Networking Event of the Mindtech trade fair was held in the Auditorium of the Vigo Trade Fair Centre (Ifevi).
Mindtech, Metal Industry and Technologies International Trade Fair, is the benchmark industrial fair in the Iberian Pole, which will hold its fourth edition from 17 to 19 June 2025 in Vigo.
During the international promotion event, the fair’s organisers and collaborators, as well as representatives of leading companies, spoke about business opportunities and highlighted the joint work carried out in what has already consolidated itself as a benchmark fair for the metal sector and its associated technologies in the Iberian Pole.
Enrique Mallón, Managing Director of Mindtech, expressed his gratitude for the great reception of this fourth edition of the fair, which will once again serve as ‘a meeting point for the metal industry and all its associated technologies’. Mallón highlighted Mindtech’s role as ‘an intercontinental hub between Europe, Africa and the Atlantic countries’ in what has already established itself as ‘an unprecedented showcase to show the world everything our sector has to offer’.
Justo Sierra, President of Mindtech, highlighted that: ‘We are working hard to make this edition a historic milestone, with more than 200 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors at this meeting that was born from the industry and for the industry. Mindtech 2025 is having a great reception, both in Galicia and especially abroad, and 60% of exhibitors are from other regions of Spain or other countries, demonstrating the relevance of the Iberian Pole as an international industrial hub. It is at meetings like this one that major contracts are closed and new business relationships of added value for the industrial fabric are created’.
During the international promotion event, the institutional representatives of the entities that have been collaborating with the fair since its first edition took part, who highlighted the importance of an event such as this for the Galician industrial sector.
Lino Comesaña, Director of Institutional Business in Galicia, Northern Spain and Portugal at Abanca: ‘Companies are the heart of the economy and we are the arteries through which credit flows for investment. Supporting meetings such as Mindtech is key to putting the international spotlight on Galicia for another year, a leading international region that has a lot to contribute’.
Ana Mejías, Fifth Deputy Mayor of the City Council of Vigo: ‘Mindtech is not only a national but also a global benchmark because all the muscle and technological potential of the metal industry is concentrated here. In Vigo there are two fundamental axes: the sea and the metal sector, which are our essence. We are living through a change of era with very complex political situations. Mindtech is above all a trade fair for professionals to generate alliances, business, progress and wealth’.
Luisa Sánchez, Vice-President of the Deputation of Pontevedra: ‘After only three editions, Mindtech is already the benchmark fair for the metal sector and its associated technologies, with cutting-edge, innovation and digital transformation in its DNA. From the Deputation we support advanced industries such as the more than 3,500 Galician companies that are part of the metal sector and represent 19% of the Galician GDP.
David Regades, State Delegate in the Vigo Free Trade Zone ConsortiumThe Vigo free trade zone has been at Mindtech since the first edition and we will support it again in future editions. Mindtech is a reflection of the business world in Galicia, and above all, it is a reflection of the economy we have in the free zone industrial estates. That is why we will continue to support this fair, which is a pole of attraction for our city and a showcase for the region’s economy. From the free zone we have helped to mobilise 600 million euros that have already reached the province of Pontevedra through European funds and grants. The free zone will continue to be a lever to attract investment and wealth to the industry of our region’.
‘María Jesús Lorenzana, Conselleira de Economía e Industria de la Xunta de Galicia: ‘Mindtech is a great opportunity to demonstrate the importance of the metal industry, innovation and the industrial potential of our community. From the Xunta we support innovative entrepreneurship in the Mindtech Startup Arena and the attraction of new investments and trade relations with other countries. The collaboration that takes place between administrations and between industries in Mindtech is fundamental. From this collaboration we are working in the Xunta de Galicia to promote industrial master plans, which address key areas such as training, internationalisation, investment and innovation. It is also crucial to link energy and industry, with measures for wind energy planning and lowering the cost of energy that will allow us to achieve our full renewable potential and benefit our industry.
‘After its first three editions, Mindtech has established itself as the hub of industrial business in the Iberian Pole. In 2025, it will once again bring together in Vigo this hub of knowledge, innovation and meetings, where more than 200 exhibitors, 50 speakers, hundreds of B2B meetings and more than 10,000 visitors are expected’, the organisers emphasise.
In this fourth edition, Mindtech will once again feature all the leading industries in the sector, including the automotive, aeronautics-aerospace, metal-mechanics, security and defence, metal structures, renewable energies, new technologies, supplies and engineering, among many others.
The fair also reinforces its international essence during this fourth edition, in which it opens up especially to the American continent, with Mexico as the guest country. In addition, Mindtech will have, as usual, an outstanding presence of companies from allied countries since its first edition, such as Portugal, Colombia, USA, Japan, South Korea, Morocco, Germany, Norway or Finland, among others.
The Startup Arena will once again showcase the technologies and business models of the future and host a competition between the most innovative start-ups, which will present their solutions to potential investors at the heart of the Mindtech fair.
The Mindtech Awards will once again recognise the most outstanding organisations and companies for their work in areas such as innovation, technology 4.0, corporate social responsibility, renewable energy, cybersecurity and sectoral collaboration. The awards will be open for entries in the coming weeks.
B2B meetings will also be held to promote high added value business contacts, and the latest international developments and trends will be addressed at the Mindtech International Conference and at thematic conferences on topics such as the mobility of the future, automation, digitalisation, innovation and entrepreneurship, energy, security and defence, aerospace, and attracting professionals to the sector.
