- Mindtech, the benchmark trade fair for the industrial sector of the Iberian Pole to be held in Vigo from 20 to 22 June, is holding for the first time the MSE, a competition between the most innovative and disruptive startups.
- The finalists were Perfect Numbers and Enercraft in the energy efficiency category, Madit Metal and Xoia Extended Reality in the digitalisation category, and Velca and Versa in the circular economy category.
- The finalist startups are eligible for prizes of €2,000 and will be able to present their project to potential investors at the MSE final, which will take place at the heart of the Mindtech fair on 21 June.
- The MSE jury that has selected the finalist companies is made up of executives from leading companies in the automotive, naval, aeronautics, machinery-food and technology industries.
MINDTECH STARTUP EVENT (MSE)
The organisers of the Mindtech trade fair have announced the finalists of the first edition of the Mindtech Startup Event, a competition launched in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia, which is looking for start-ups with the most innovative ideas, capable of transforming Industry 4.0 with a unique technological solution.

“We seek to reward these companies financially but above all with a recognition that will help them to grow, to make themselves known and to use the Mindtech fair as a platform to expand their own business. The quality of the members of the jury, made up of large multinational companies that regularly collaborate with startups, has aroused the interest of startups at national and international level, in a very tight competition in which the six companies with the best solutions were finalists,” added Mallón.

FINALISTAS POR CATEGORÍA
Mindtech, in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia, is looking for startups that offer innovative solutions to three challenges linked to the current reality of the industrial and technological sector.
- Category 1: Transformation and digitisation of industrial processes. Development of digital technology to enable new capabilities and optimisation of processes in your value chain.
- Madit Metal: Basque company specialising in design and manufacture using 3D metal printing and surface finishes with SLM (Selective Laser Melting) technology, a solution that reduces manufacturing costs and delivery times.
- Xoia Extending Realitydevelopers of Augemented Factory, a suite of augmented and virtual reality solutions for Industry 4.0, which converts traditional technical manuals into contextualised instructions accessible from anywhere in the world, so that operators can see in the work environment how each start-up or maintenance operation is carried out.
- Category 2: Energy efficiency and reduction of environmental impact. Efficiency and environmental impact reduction solutions
- Perfect Numbers: Monitoring solutions based on the Internet of Things (IoT), with third-generation Big Data technologies and artificial intelligence to solve problems of energy costs, air leakage and water scarcity.
- Enercraft: Design, development and manufacture of Energetic Ground Support Devices for aircraft. Finalists for the technological maturity achieved with their hybrid battery and portable power solutions in their Energy Mobile Assistant devices.
- Category 3: Circular Economy in Industry and Sustainability. Solutions that enable inclusive and environmentally sustainable industrial development as well as responsible use of resources.
- Velca: manufacturer of 100% electric city vehicles with a removable battery that can be charged at any household socket. Finalists for their initiative to reuse batteries, which when they reach 2400 charge cycles are used as energy accumulators, and for collaborating in Unites Wy, a project that provides solar energy kits so that families can generate electricity in a self-sufficient and sustainable way.
- Versa: design and construction of modular solutions using shipping containers for the development of commercial, residential and catering projects.

EXPERT JURY
The MSE has a jury of six experts of recognised prestige in the industrial and technological sector, executives from leading companies in the automotive, shipbuilding, aeronautics, machinery-food and technology industries, who will decide the winner in each category at the MSE final on 21 June at the Mindtech trade fair.

MSE FINAL EVENT
The MSE finals will take place on 21 June, from 10.30am to 1pm, in the Startup Arena, at the heart of the Mindtech fair.
During this event, which is open to the media, the finalist startups will present their final pitch to try to win the award in each of the categories. There will also be inspirational talks by successful startups, investors and other players in the international startup ecosystemsuch as Florent Bannwart, Director of Marketing and Operations Spain and Portugal at BlaBlaCar; Antonio Iglesias, General Director at Endeavor Spain; or Carlos Ruisánchez Pérez, Head of Scouting & Dealflow at WAYRA – Telefónica Open Innovation.
STARTUP ARENA
The MSE has the support of the Xunta de Galicia through a collaboration agreement to promote technological transformation, innovation and the improvement of the competitiveness of the Galician productive fabric within the framework of the Mindtech fair.
In this sense, the fair is promoting, with the collaboration of the Xunta de Galicia, an area dedicated to startups and innovation, the Mindtech Startup Arena.
