Mindtech and CZFV sign an agreement to promote the Iberian Pole’s benchmark trade fair

12 de April de 2023

  • Mindtech, the benchmark trade fair for the industrial sector of the Iberian Pole to be held in Vigo from 20 to 22 June, has signed a multi-year agreement with Consorcio Zona Franca de Vigo to jointly promote this and the next edition in 2025.

Justo Sierra, President of Mindtech and David Regades, State Delegate at Consorcio Zona Franca de Vigo, have signed this morning in Vigo a multi-year collaboration agreement.

Both entities have thus renewed their commitment not only for this third edition of the fair, to be held at Ifevi in Vigo from 20 to 22 June, but also for the fourth edition in 2025.

The agreement seeks to strengthen the consolidation of this fair in the medium and long term, reinforcing its position as an intercontinental hub for the industrial business of the Iberian pole, due to its dynamic capacity to attract value-added business to the whole of Galicia and to Vigo and its area of influence.

Both entities have materialised in this agreement their shared vision to make Galician industry visible in the international arena and to position Galicia as a benchmark industrial and technological area. Promoting industrial entrepreneurship, generating greater business capacity and expanding open innovation opportunities with tractor companies are some of the areas included in this agreement.

Justo Sierra, President of Mindtech, thanked the collaboration and recalled that “This is an unprecedented showcase to show the world all that our sector has to offer. We are working hard to make this edition a historic milestone, doubling the number of exhibitors and visitors in a meeting that was born from the industry itself and for the industry, and that is having a great reception. The metal sector and its associated technologies are highly internationalised and it is at meetings like this one that major contracts are closed and new value-added business relationships are created”.

With regard to the fair’s expectations, Sierra emphasised that they are very high, with this third edition being the consolidation: “The fair will bring together 300 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors. We are facing a fair that is already well established, a good example of this is that more than half of the exhibitors are from outside Galicia and we already have 10 international delegations from countries that want to do business here, in Galicia, as a gateway to Europe and the hub of the industrial business of the Iberian Pole”.

In its third edition, Mindtech 2023 will once again be attended by all the leading industries in the sector, including the automotive, aeronautics, metalworking, metal structures, renewable energies, new technologies, supplies, engineering and much more.

On an international level, Mindtech will have an outstanding presence of companies from countries such as Japan, Portugal, Colombia, Mexico, Morocco, Poland, Argentina and South Korea.

Highlights of the fair

Startups and innovation: Mindtech will once again open its Startup Arena, a space that will host 40 high-tech startups and accelerators. New this year will be the Mindtech Startup Event, a competition between the most innovative and disruptive startups to present their project to potential investors in the heart of the Mindtech fair and compete for a prize of 2,000 euros.

Mindtech Awards: Once again, in this third edition, these awards have been announced to recognise the most outstanding organisations and companies for their work in areas such as innovation, 4.0 technology, circular economy, mobility and corporate social responsibility. The call for entries is open until 12 May.

B2B meetings: As every year, Mindtech will hold B2B meetings to promote high added-value business contacts. The B2B meetings will bring together exhibiting companies, international buyers, Tier 1 companies from benchmark industries and visiting companies, generating a meeting point of great commercial value for the sector.

Conferences: As in each edition, the fair will host a full programme of conferences, workshops and lectures to address the challenges and opportunities that arise for the industry in the context of digital transformation, process automation and energy transition. Highlights include the Mindtech International Conference (MIC), a benchmark event at the fair, the Automotive & Mobility Summit (AutoMob), an Automation and Robotics Workshop, the Tecnolóxicas Forum to showcase female talent in the industry and the Speakers’ Corner where companies will give inspiring talks and product demonstrations throughout the duration of the fair.
