On an international level, in recent years the company has been gaining presence in European markets in demanding sectors such as energy, nuclear, etc., accompanied by an improvement in annual turnover figures of around 6 M. euros, with an average workforce of 35 people.
Why did you decide to go for Mindtech in its fourth edition in 2025?
As a Galician company based in Mos-Pontevedra, we must be firmly committed to the development of Mindtech, as a fair that is held in our immediate area and is a good meeting point where we can receive our most established customers, both national and international, and even make direct visits to our facilities. Making our entire portfolio of services known, as well as interacting with the entire business network that surrounds us.
What is the added value for your company to participate in this fair?
The proximity to our manufacturing facilities is what allows us, in addition to communicating and consolidating, to be able to directly show our value proposition and our differential factor.
Manuel Castro, General Manager, Mecoxi
What will you be presenting at Mindtech 2025?
During the year 2025, Mecoxi will be immersed in a process of expanding its facilities through more industrial land and, therefore, a greater production capacity. Likewise, with the planned acquisition of state-of-the-art machinery, we will continue to be at the forefront of the different production processes we offer our customers.
What do you think is the differential value of the metallurgical industry and its associated technologies in the Iberian Pole in particular?
The metal industry in the Iberian pole has a great relevance and weight in the economy of the area. It brings together a wide range of metallurgical companies, well equipped and with personnel of a high technical quality, capable of undertaking large industrial manufacturing projects in sectors as demanding as: naval, energy, marine wind power, automotive, etc., and is able to take on the challenges of technological transformation that are approaching us, providing solutions to the most demanding customers.
This is why Mindtech is a great platform for showcasing projects and capabilities to showcase the strength of our business fabric in the metallurgical sector.
What challenges do you see facing the industry today?
Adapting to constant technological and regulatory changes, applying AI in our processes, digitalisation, Industry 5.0 and thus increasing process automation, as well as being able to continue to compete in the face of globalisation.
What is needed to meet these challenges and maintain the industry’s competitiveness?
Firstly, to achieve synergies between local companies and to ensure that they are led by tractor companies or clusters with their own product that allows them to optimise costs and improve competitiveness in order to gain access to important contracts at the international level. Secondly, to continue our commitment to training for all our staff and the continuous improvement of our production processes.
