Carles Ballbèi Corral, International Sales Manager inGeneral Driver Motor
What projects is General Driver Motor working on?
At GDM, we have two areas of business.
- The main one is dedicated to providing solutions to companies in different industrial sectors. These include the repair of servo systems (servo motors, drivers, inverters, power supplies, screens), special motors (spindles, electric spindles) and industrial robots of various brands. We also offer the sale and exchange of equipment, both remanufactured and new.
- The new area focuses on the distribution of Hiwin servo systems and industrial robots and the distribution of THETA spindle motors. In both cases, these are well-known Taiwanese companies.
‘Our technical department collaborates on turnkey projects with our Taiwanese partners.’
What values guide General Driver Motor’s way of working and philosophy?
Our philosophy is based on responsibility. We treat each repair with care, considering the needs of our customers and approaching each operation with attention.
We continuously conduct quality surveys to find out how our customers and friends perceive our services, with the aim of identifying and improving areas that need it. On the other hand, we have a team that continuously researches to provide appropriate solutions in each area of activity.
Which trends within your sector are here to stay and which ones should we pay attention to?
We live in an increasingly automated industry, where both obsolete and state-of-the-art equipment coexist, essential for production departments. However, companies are keeping less stock due to the diversity of brands or policies that avoid allocating financial resources to inventory.
‘It is crucial to have a reliable partner who offers quick solutions and helps reduce pollution, extending the life of the equipment.’
Without a doubt, the number of companies that rely on external support in the area of maintenance indicates more than a trend; it is a necessity in the current production model. This reality brings improvements to the production chain: speed and improved response times; savings, as it avoids production stoppages; reliability, by having experts in all areas and reducing storage costs.
