Luis Alfonso Álvarez Sestelo holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Vigo and has furthered his education at institutions such as Oxford University, IE Business School and IESE, completing programmes such as the Advanced Management Program, Venture Capital Program and Private Equity Program.
He has more than 25 years of experience in management positions in the telecommunications and consulting sectors, with a special focus on innovation, entrepreneurship and business development. He has actively collaborated with public entities in the promotion of the Galician entrepreneurial ecosystem, and is a member of a network of Business Angels.
He currently works as an independent consultant in M&A processes, strategy, investment fundraising and corporate development, having participated in more than 20 company purchase and sale transactions. He is a member of the Instituto de Consejeros y Administradores (IC-A) and has served on boards of directors in Spain, Mexico and the UK.
He is a founding partner and CEO of Optare Solutions, a firm specialising in consultancy for the telecommunications sector, which was listed on BME Growth in October 2024. In addition, since September of the same year, he has chaired the Board of Directors of the Marsan Group.
