Mecoxi: leaders in industrial machining

6 de June de 2022

Mecanizados y Oxicortes, S.L. (MECOXI) was founded in 1997 and belongs to the iron and steel sector. It originally concentrated its activity in the naval sector and has gradually diversified into other sectors such as the energy, wind energy, automotive and industrial sectors. Mecoxi offers all industrial subcontracting services. Its main differential factor is to offer all its customers the complete manufacturing process of any equipment, carrying out all the phases of a product up to the final product.

Why did you decide to support Mindtech for its third edition in 2023?

After having participated in the 2 previous editions and after the success obtained, we consider it essential to continue betting on this fair in 2023, as a model of consolidation of a fair that is becoming a benchmark for the entire industrial sector of the northern pole of Spain and Portugal.

We consider it essential to continue participating in Mindtech and to continue reinforcing our commitment to internationalisation and our presence at trade fairs, and even more so when they are held in our city. Consolidating contacts with our local partners and gaining visibility and presenting value propositions to new national and international clients is our priority.

What is the added value for your company in participating in this fair?

The company has been internationalising over the last decade, which has made it necessary to update its processes and machinery to meet the needs of new customers and sectors. Participating in different national and international trade fairs is part of the strategic plan designed by the company’s management. Being able to make ourselves known and exchange information with potential new customers, increase ties with current ones and interact and collaborate with other companies in our sector is something that we consider essential in the current times.

In addition, Mindtech, due to its proximity to the location of the company, even allows direct visits to the company during the days of the fair.

What will you be presenting at Mindtech 2023?

The remainder of the year 2022 and the coming year will be turbulent and the expected recovery is not coming as expected, aggravated by the geopolitical situation that directly affects us in the supply of raw materials, energy costs and slowdown in activity in key international markets for the company. Even so, Mecoxi will continue to invest in the technological improvement of its production means and it is very likely that for Mindtech 2023, we will present the acquisition of new equipment and new technological improvements for our production process, which will help us to be more efficient and competitive.

How do you face recovery/reactivation in the current context of lack of raw materials, rising costs of supplies and energy, etc.?

As we indicated above, the high increase in raw materials, which have even tripled in value in the last year, the shortage of some materials/qualities, together with the very high energy costs, wage costs, etc., creates significant uncertainty when it comes to the flow of large projects that subsequently become workloads for our companies.

We firmly believe in economic recovery and a return in 2023 to levels of industrial production in line with the needs of our companies’ economies, with stable price levels, both in raw materials, supplies, energy, services, etc.

What do you think is the differential value of the metal industry and its associated technologies in the Iberian Pole in particular?

Mindtech is presented as a great opportunity to enhance the value of the metallurgical sector in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, if all the actors in the sector are able to join forces and attract potential international clients who can get to know all our offer and diversity. Unity and joint collaboration between companies will be essential to tackle important projects and to demonstrate the enormous potential and skills of our metallurgical industry as a whole.
